Samsung Galaxy S3

Google Nexus 7 Tablet PC Review

Product Description

Nexus 7 is Google's latest Nexus experience device and the first tablet to feature Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It combines the best of both Google and ASUS design, with the most advanced software from Google paired with cutting edge ASUS hardware. Powerful, well built and with a better screen than you'd expect for the price, Asus and Google's Nexus 7 sets the new gold standard for budget tablets.

The good

The Nexus 7 features a sharp screen, a comfortable design, and great battery life at a low starting price. Android 4.2 adds some welcome and useful features.

The bad

Android still needs more tablet-optimized apps, newer games have frame rate issues, and HSPA+ speeds seem particularly location-dependent.

The bottom line

With its excellent design, useful software features, and low starting price, the Nexus 7 is the cheapest way to experience the best that the Android OS has to offer.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Review

Product Description

The Galaxy S III is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5GHz Dual-core Processor. It comes with a 4.8-inch super AMOLED screen and a resolution of 1280x720 pixels, and weighs a mere 133 grams.

FEATURES: While only 16% larger than the S2 the huge 4.8" Amoled HD screen feels large.

Smart Stay: The S3 will track your eyes when you are looking at it and the screen will not dim or turn off.

Direct Call: By holding the S3 up to your ear when you have a contact selected the number will be called automatically.

Smart Alert: A fantastic 8MP camera offers a 20-shot burst mode and will select the best snap. You can also take photos while recording video.

Face Zoom and Slide Show: Double tap a face to zoom close in.

Social network and camera integration: Automatic picture tagging, and with Buddy Photo Share allows you to send images directly to friend in the picture. With Group Tag you can tag multiple people at once,

S-Voice: Not to confused with Apple's Siri. This feature allows voice control your phone, eg volume, calls, location requests.

S-Beam: High speed file transfer via NFC and WiFi Direct, between two phones touched together, operating at up to 300Mbps.

All Share Play and Cast: Share your S3's screen to a TV, or use the screen as a remote control.

The good

Excellent battery life
Superb screen
Quad core speed
Top media management

The Bad

Subjective design
S Voice not optimised

The bottom line

A phone worthy of the hype, in the hand, the Samsung Galaxy S3 feels superb. The design contours well against the palm, and while the screen size may be a little big for some (you'll need a bit of shuffling to reach the upper section of the screen) it's definitely useable in the hand.

So in short: if you don't mind a slightly lighter-feeling polycarbonate shell and you like big HD screens in your pocket, this is a phone definitely worth checking out.

The bad

Volume max could be higher. The solution is to connect surround sound or external speakers. Ultimately, you will want to connect surround sound to any TV this size if you are truly going for the best home theater experience.

The bottom line

Seiki are an affordable choice for those who want to upgrade to a larger TV. It doesn’t have all of the features that many of the more expensive TVs such as built in WiFi and streaming apps, but the screen is big, it’s thin, light, and the picture is great..

The good

Not a iPad Clone
Simple, sleek and easy to hold. Light Weight

Hooked into Amazon’s incredibly bountiful ecosystem. Buying Books is simple and listening to music using Amazon cloud player is pretty seamless.

A 1280x800 display.  Resolution is on par the new iPad
7-inch display - The Form factor is all the rage
Dual Stereo Speakers
Whispersync for Games

X-Ray for movies

Parental Controls

Comes at a ridiculously low price: $199.

The bad

Web Browsing experience is a let down. Doesn't feel fluid like we do on iPad3
The keyboard keys are not as sharp as one would expect

Amazon’s app store has about 30,000 apps, versus more than 500,000 for the iPad or Nexus

Lacks some features the costlier iPad offers. Among these are  a rear camera, and built-in dictation, instant messaging and maps, and the ability to beam video or music to a TV using a device like the Apple TV. It lacks artificial-intelligence features like Apple’s Siri, or Google Now, a feature of the Nexus 7

The bottom line

The 7-inch, Android-based Amazon Fire will appeal to those who buy books, videos, and music at Amazon, but it will frustrate those looking for a more versatile slate.
